On a very old label, now brown with age, in the upper center on the back of the canvas in black print and black penned entry now very hard to read is: Nov.1786 [date almost illeg.] CYRUS FRENCH/GRAFTON/COUNTY WORCESTER/[pen] Aged 30 years/and 6 months. Typewritten on a NFL label with blue lines is: Nov.1786 Cyrus French, Grafton County/Worcester, Aged 30 years/and 6 months. At the bottom of the fram and stretcher bar in the center is incised [with heat?] into the wood: CF . In pencil on the upper back of the frame is: #2690F.
