3 piece ensemble: A=Sleeveless Bodice; B=Long sleeved Bodice; C=Skirt. Sky blue iridescent taffeta; brocaded; with serpentine floral trail of white roses with blue leaves. A=Sleeveless Bodice - broad neckline with piping; capped petal sleeves; slight curved point at waist. Padded; boned; white cotton twill lining; linen waistband; hook & eye closure center back. This bodice dates to the 1840's. B=Long Sleeved Bodice - matching bodice for day; high lace collar with wire support; open squared decolletage; with ruffle and drawstring. Lace lapels and lace ruffle from center front waist, extending over shoulders and to center back where ends in peplum at waist. Leg o' mutton sleeves with lace band and ruffle; left sleeve is missing ruffle. Boned; padded at front (interlining); white cotton sateen lining; sleeves lined with white cambric. Pointed at back; woven inner waistband with two large hooks for holding skirt; hook & eye closure. C=Skirt - matching skirt; smooth front panel; stitched at sides. Full train with padded interlining & buckram; lace dust ruffle; gathered at center back; hook & eye closure at left (slightly off center back).
