Description

Box containing 66 loose images, including unmounted and mounted drawings on trace, photographs, and photomechanical prints as well as blueprints. Most drawings are rendered in pencil; several are rendered in colored pencil or watercolor. All designs reflect furnishings made by A. H. Davenport Co., Irving and Casson, or therir successor Irving and Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. The vast majority of the images are of altar rails and church fonts; however, a folding screen, sideboard, desk, andiron and stanchion are also shown. Many images contain handwritten notes showing customer name and location, order number and date, and model number. Named customers include: Cathedral of the Sacred Heart (Newark, NJ); Christ Church (Brooklyn, MA); Church of the Ascension (New York, NY); Employers' Liability Assurance Co. (Boston, MA)); St. James Church (New London, CT); St. Thomas Chapel (New York, NY); and William H. Jackson Company (New York, NY).
