Description

Untitled scrapbook. Scrapbook has red fabric cover and is held together by twine laced through six eyelets. The number "3" is handwritten on spine. Scrapbook contains 50 pages, six of which are blank. The bulk of the materials are clippings from 19th century and 20th century periodicals, catalogs, and magazines, including "House and Garden," "Country Life," "Good Furniture Magazine," and "The American Architect." Many of the clippings overlap one another. The majority of the clippings depict pine panelled rooms and other paneling examples encompassing a wide range of time periods and styles. Other clippings depict painted panels, tile work and parquet patterns. A clipping of an advertisement for Irving & Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. in the September 1927 issue of "The Architect' is on page 29. A digital copy of this page is attached to this record. An article titled "The Display Rooms of a Tile Manufactory" torn from a November, 1922 issue of "The Architectural Record" is included inside the back cover.
