Scrapbook titled "Mantels Panelling Metalwork." Scrapbook has brown cloth covering and leather labels affixed to spine. Rectangular labels are printed in gold with title, "No. 6" and "A. H. Davenport Co." Scrapbook contains 312 pages, 189 of which are blank. The materials within this scrapbook primarily show mantels, panels, and metalwork. The table of contents divides the material into the following categories: Romanesque mantels, Jacobean mantels, French mantels, German mantels, Colonial mantels, paneling, and metalwork. Nearly all of the mantels list the location, architect, and date. The paneling illustrations are mostly from hotels, churches, staircases, and halls. Of note are two illustrations of mantels designed by Basil Champneys for Manor Farm in Hampstead (129, 130), which appear next to photographs of the same rooms. There are design drawings on trace by A. H. Davenport Co.(pages 19, 113, 171) as well as large illustrations of the metalwork in fireplace tools, firedogs, and a chandelier (202, 204-206). Some photographs appear to have been removed. Digital images of a selection of items from the album are attached to this record.
