Design drawing titled "Painted Grey Chair of Cherry" rendered in pencil on trace. Front and side views are shown. Arm chair has large rectangular back with straight crest rail and stiles carved with bellflowers and a geometric molding; carved foliate ornament atop crest rail; curved arms with scrolled handholds; curved arm supports with scrolled base and carved acanthus leaves; upholstered back, arm pads, sides and seat with single row of metal tacks along all edges; straight seat rails with composition interlaced spiral molding and corner blocks with quatrefoils; fluted tapered round legs with carved acanthus leaves at top; and brass shoes with casters. Title, design notes, "Made for J. Hampden Robb / N. Y. Order 19588" and "11374 / J. B. W." are handwritten on draweing.
