Description

Untitled design drawing rendered in ink on trace. Perspective view is shown. William and Mary-style arm chair has back which cants backward; heavily carved scrolled crest rail; splat with rectangular caned panel flanked by carved double scrolls; conforming bottom rail; turned vasiform stiles with ring turnings and rectangular blocks at rails; ball finials; curved arms with scrolled handholds; vasiform turned arm supports; caned seat; turned columnar rear legs; turned front legs with rectangular blocks at stretchers; plain rectangular stretchers on upper sides and front; turned H-stretchers; and heavily carved front stretcher with double scrolls. Design notes and "Mrs. Potter / Oct 7 - 1901 J. P. H." are handwritten on drawing. Companion side chair is CC010.001.006.031.004.
