Description

FAN (A): Thirteen sticks and two guards of ivory; sticks are pierced and inalid with silver (motifs of birds and scroll and base with flower); guards have inlaid meander; leaf of white kid is painted with watercolor: center oval medallion shows village scene of farmers cutting hay, with horse and wagon at left, and houses, bridge and river in the distance; on left side of medallion is a gold sheep resting on bed of flowers; on right side is same sheep with beehive; delicate floral gardland; on reverse is a red watercolor floral spray; guard sticks are pierced and have pink/coral silk backing. BOX (B): (not original to fan:) Blue paper, green lining; top missing.
