Description

Printed paisley stripe - multicolored paisleys on plum/brown ground alternates w/ band of 5 stripes (light blue, red, white, yellow & green) w/ stylized & geometric floral patterns. Quilted plum taffeta around neck, shoulders & center front to hem. Cuffs w/ bell-shaped sleeves (also used as lining for front); large silk buttons at center front w/ loop closure extending from neck to hem (2 buttons missing). Sleeves and back skirt lined w/ navy blue ribbed silk; cartridge pleats at back. Piped neck, armscye & waist; large pocket on right; smaller (change?) pocket on left seam. Bodice lined w/ tan glazed cotton; inner bodice is boned & had lace closure w/ handstitched eyes.
