Carved hardwood box in the form of a prayer book, with notched edges; front and back sides have chip-carved square enclosed by incised crested rectangle, with faintly carved pinwheel decoration at corners; sliding cover at long page-side with carved triangular pull; inside is an old, small, leatherbound pray book, THE ECONOMY OF HUMAN LIFE printed in 1761.
