"Cabinet of Mahogany"

Description

Design drawing with two views titled "Cabinet of Mahogany." Front view of a cabinet on stand is rendered in pencil and watercolor; plan of top is in pencil only. Chinese Chippendale-style cabinet on stand has a central projecting section flanked by two shorter receding sections. Side sections are topped by a pierced fretwork gallery and have glass doors with muntins forming lozenge shapes. Central section has a pierced fretwork and pagoda-shaped pediment. The glass door on the central section has one horizontal and two vertical muntins topped by curved muntins forming a pagoda shape. The cabinet is supported by straight legs terminating in block feet. Lower skirt and legs have a pierced fretwork design. The title and scale are handprinted on the drawing. Embossed on the lower left corner is: "Return to / A. H. Davenport Co. / 150 Madison Ave. / New York."
