Subseries D. Other papers, 1908-1951, undated (#3.29, 3.44-3.48) includes a copy of Frederick William Pierce's (1895-1951) will, 1948, copy of settlement of estate, 1951; a certificate issued to Roger Grenway Pierce by the United States Power Squadrons (USPS) in 1939, stating that he passed the entrance examination in Coastwise Navigation and was admitted to USPS in Boston. The document was updated and Pierce attained additional qualifications as advanced pilot (1940), junior navigator (1941), navigator (1942), and in seamanship (1948). The USPS is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to making boating safer and more enjoyable by teaching classes in seamanship, navigation and related subjects; it was founded in 1914; an announcement for Commencement Exercises at Dartmouth College for the Class of 1910, held at Hanover, New Hampshire, in June 1910. A small card with the name Roger Grenway Pierce is inserted inside the announcement and two Dartmouth College report cards (1908, 1909) and an undated plot plan in an envelope.
