Description

Photo album titled: "Pews 21." Title is hand printed on a round paper label affixed to spine; volume number is also printed on a paper label affixed to spine. Album has a heavy textured dark brown covering and is held together with two metal brads. Album has 56 olive green pages; 19 of the pages are blank. Album contains 37 mounted black-and-white photographs. Photographs are of a variety of pews manufactured by A. H. Davenport Co., Irving and Casson, and their successor, Irving and Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. The order number and year are often shown on a display in the photographs; model numbers are also provided in some cases. Customer names are handwritten on several album pages. Named customers are: Reformed Church of Harlem (New York, NY); St. Michael's Convent (Union City, NJ); Seaman's Institute (New York, (NY); and West Point Military Academy (West Point, NY). Digital images of a selection of photographs from the album are attached to this record.
