Console table for State Dining Room

Description

Untitled design drawing rendered in pencil on trace. Front view is shown. Neoclassical-style D-shaped sideboard or console table ahs overhanging top with molding below; reed-and-tie carved molding on frieze; carved acanthus leaves above legs; tapered reeded legs with cuffs; and ball feet. Gilded railing at back of top has repeating scrolls topped with palmettes and bellflowers. One large support is under table in the form of an eagle with outstretched wings.Table was designed for use in the State Dining Room as part of the 1902 White House restoration.
