Description

Three fragments of wallboard with attached striped wallpaper from Monmouth, Maine. The wallboard fragments fit together length-wise with half lap splice joints. Cut nail fragments are present in the boards. One side of the boards are painted or stained red. The wallpaper is affixed over the paint or stain. The wallpaper has a striped pattern of fretwork with trefoils alternating with a meandering vine with birds and berries. The paper is roller-printed in two blues, two greens, ochre, orange, brown, and two yellows on tan ground.
