Description

Handmade folder used to hold family documents. The folder is one of a group of twenty-two created by Olive Percival of Los Angeles, California. The folder's label, handwritten by Percival, indicates it held the 1855 "Autograph Album of Cousin Ruth" of Hartford, Connecticut. The folder is made of tri-folded white decorative paper block-printed in pink with squares containing a stylized flower in a diamond on a background of crosshatching. Five hand-cut paper flowers of varying sizes are glued to the front of the folder. Three of the flowers bear handwriting describing the contents of the folder.
