Description

Fabric backed wallpaper sample from "the old paper shop of Mr. Childs" in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The central feature of the pattern is a large, naturalistic floral spray with roses, hydrangea, harebells and geraniums. The flowers float on a scenic background depicting a waterway framed by ferns, grasses and trees in shades of green. In the distance is a castle on a cliff in light purple. Block-printed in cream, two grays, six pinks, white, two reds, peach, orange, brown, tan, yellow, ochre, five purples and eight greens on an irisé ground of pastel yellow, blue and green. A wooden stick and red fabric ties are tacked to the end of the roll
