Description

Chip-carved camphor wood watch case, in the shape of a tall case clock, with a carved wheel in a sliding panel with a scroll top and shaped sides on bracket feet. An all-over geometric chip-carving glass panel below revealing a small watercolor with a bird, architectural view and grapes, signed in pencil on a watercolor ribbon "Mrs. S.M. Thomas". The case now houses a compass.
