Description

Rolled fragment of unused scenery figure wallpaper. Fragment depicts a river with steep banks. A village with large cathedral is on the near bank. A road with travelers winds toward the viewer. Printed mostly in shades of gray except for some highlights of color in a few elements of the pattern. Block-printed in four grays, white, yellow, light blue and green on polished white ground. Pattern based on a 1850s scenery figure pattern (see related objects).
