Fragment of unused, rolled wallpaper from Lexington, Massachusetts. Pattern of narrow green stripes with stylized black floral sprigs alternating with vertical stripes of small beads also printed in green and black. Roller-printed in green and black on green ground.

Inscription

"Her grandfather was early clock maker in Newburyport - / French Beautiful expensive gold leaf papers - / Given me by Miss Anna Muzzey / 14 Glen Road / Lexington 73 - Mass--- / Her father in 1840's (?) heard that beautiful w. p. were ? arriving on a ship in Boston - from France - + he bought / the entire lot. He was a merchant in Boston - / The elaborate corner borders are from Miss Muzzey" (Last line written later in felt tip pen.)
