Description

Two fragments of wallpaper from the Wade Homestead, Ipswich, Massachusetts. Wallpaper is printed with a geometric tile pattern featuring a stylized floral and foliate medallion in a sixteen-sided tile. The tiles are divided by lozenge figures with sprig and twig figures. The paper is roller-printed in black, red and pale yellow on an olive ground. The pattern was reproduced as part of the second Waterhouse Collection by Warner. The fragments are attached to either side of a piece of paperboard along with fragments of additional wallpapers with diaper patterns (see 2001.281.971.2 and 2001.281.971.3).
