Description

Fragment of scenic figured wallpaper from Newberry, Vermont. A boat with male passengers is pulled ashore by a single figure. The scene is framed by leaning trees, with an arched bridge and a cityscape in background. Block-printed in three browns, three greens, orange, blue, pink and lavender. Irisé ground in blue, lavender and aqua within scenery vignettes. Other areas appear to have a light gray or tan ground. "Champlain Approaching the City" or "Champlain Scenic."
