Decorative papers from a fireboard. A sidewall paper (A), border (B) and additional decorative paper (C) affixed to one half of a fireboard canvas. The fireboard canvas has been removed from its frame. The wallpaper (A) pattern is of large-scale circular medallions framing a floral element. Diamonds are formed in the spaces between medallions and contain the same floral elements as the medallions. The pattern is very faded but appears block-printed in white and green on gray ground. The paper is blue ingrain. The border paper (B) is a repeating flower pattern with gray stripes on the upper and lower edges. Also very faded, the border appears roller-printed with green and gray flowers and black pindots on plain paper. A third paper (C) is affixed to the canvas above and below the wallpaper and border. These narrow strips of paper would have covered the upper and lower edges of the fireboard frame. The paper (C) is printed blue with no visible pattern.
