Description

Grain-painted maple and pine Queen Anne drop-front desk on frame, the upper section with flat top and slant front opening to 4 small drawers surmounted by 8 pigeonholes, the arched tape of which were carved from a single piece of wood, wide single drawer of large dovetail construction located below drop-front, between two pull-out supports; this desk upper-section fitted into frame with hearily molded top, straight apron with shaped corner pieces, on round tapering legs turned at the top and resting on pad feet; front and sides of thick construction (inner side of drop front repaired and grain-painting appears repainted, new corners blocks, hinges and one drwer, per NFL); old bat-wing brasses with boil handles a replacement (per NFL); graining of reddish brown color and walnut graining, fanciful figure and burl; maple primary wood, pine secondary (underneath).
