Description

Grayling was a wooden centerboard schooner designed by Philip Ellsworth for Latham Fish of New York and built by Poillon in New York in 1883. She became famous when she capsized during her maiden voyage but was subsequently raised and reballasted and embarked on a successful racing career that lasted many years. Altered by Lawley 1887. LOA 91ft. LWL 82-8ft. Beam 23ft.
