Description

This album is bound in black leather and is embossed with gold lettering reading "George Mixter" on the binding. It includes twenty-three sepia tone prints, including twelve exterior views and eleven interior views. The exterior views show the landscape as well as exterior details of the house, including doorways and fenestration. The interior views highlight features such as furniture, drapes, mantels, and panelling. Other features include scenic wallpaper (see page 12) and wallpaper with a ship pattern (see page 19).

The Album may be one assembled by William Truman Aldrich, an architect practising in the first 1/2 of the 20th century. The house's owner may be George Mixter, author of a book on navigation published in 1947.
