Description

Mantel mirror on small rectangular base. Cicular mirror has a brass frame decorated with inlaid brass fretwork and pale purple orchids on a yellow enamel ground. Triangle shaped open fretwork finial attached to top. Mirror is attached to base by two crested birds with hairy claw feet. Each bird holds an open fretwork drop in its beak. Birds are connected by an openwork 'skirt' bordered by small purple and pink flowers. Brass base has open fretwork sides, top of base is decorated with inlaid brass fretwork and a large purple flower on yellow ground. Mirror has a solid brass back, hinged at center.
