Description

Hollow cut silhouette of John Langdon (1741-1819) placed over plainweave dark silk. Set under glass and in a gilded wooden frame, this silhouette is inscribed in ink with the sitters name and a date (earlier than the silhouette was made), and stamped with the artists' mark in the lower proper left corner.
