Description

Wood pipe organ later converted into a secretary. Tall overhanging molded cornice above 2 glass paneled doors w/ frosted floral, lyre and trifoil outline, opening to 2 long shelves, hinged. Desk top w/ elaborate ribbed molding on edge and around central indented panel. Writing surface has velvet covering w/ wide wood border desk top reveals, 5 central serpentine shaped shelves, 6 side shelves and 1 central w/ double cyma and finial skirts (central has mirrored back) and 4 side drawers. Covered organ keyboard below w/ ivory and ebony keys and 4 stops marked "John Fifield Maker Boston"; paneled area below flanked by 2 massive simple chamfered piers w/ molded base. Surviving pipes in Coffin house.
