Description

Piano, Empire style. Rosewood veneer over unidentified secondary wood, ivory and ebony keys; metal pedals and strings. Stenciled gilt label on front "Chickering/ Boston." Four tapered, faceted columnar legs terminating in turned feet. Rippled heading on all three sides, above which is the keyboard, flanked by veneer insets further defined by beading. Plain rectangular music rack, which folds down and is covered by plain rectangular hood. Shaped metal pedals with acanthus leaf decoration are surmounted by lyre shaped support with applied ring decoration.
