Description

French Scenic wallpaper panel "Palais-Royal" pattern. Half panel depicts a woman pulling on a handle [other half is 2010.27.1.11]. Flat topped fluted column in background. Panel framed by a leafy arch at top and tree like column on right side [column on left has been cut off]. Pattern identical to 2010.27.1.1. Block printed in grisaille on blue ground. Original manufacturer and designer are unknown. Small fragments of green and brown three dimensional paper attached to right side. Removed from a ca. 1800 house in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.\n
