The gold link watch chain has a toggle bar on a slide to attach to a buttonhole. A second slide, this one a faceted gold bead decorated with basse taille enamel leaves, allowed the wearer to adjust the chain swags when worn. The two chain ends are capped with catches, one a circular thumb clasp and the other an oval lobster claw on a swivel.
