Inscription

1) Printed in black ink in different fonts throughout sheet: ""Upwards of 600 different Patterns: / W. F. SHAW, / 270 WASHINGTON ST. Opposite Temple Place, / (second store from Avon Place.) / BOSTON. / LAMP STORE, / SOLAR & CAMPHENE Lamps, / CHANDELIERS, CANDELABRAS, / OIL, WICKS, GLASSES. / Lamps and Candelabras to Let for Parties. 2) Note in blue pen on paper backing, upside down, upper register: ""Ronald W. Olmstead (Past President of The Rushlight Bluc) [ Box 213, Northwood, N.H. 03261] finds that W. F. Shaw is listed / in ""Boston Almanac""s as follows: 1844--182 Washington St. (lamp seller) / 1846--198 [Washington St., lampseller] / 1850--270 [Washington St. (lampmaker & seller)] / 1853--174 [Washington St. (lampmaker & seller)] hence this broadside used between 1850 and 1853"". 3) There is an inscription in Hebrew embossed on the lower left half of this flyer, apparently accidently impressed into paper, inscribed on another thin support on top of this sheet [repeated numbers & the letter ""a"" also appear on the right] an English L7 (seven pounds sterling). 4) There are several illustrations of lamps with names and prices.
