Description

Shield in a rounded-edged diamond shape, made of thick animal hide with a bamboo handle pole extending above and below the top and bottom edges of the shield. The bamboo pole runs down the center of the side that faces the body and is affixed to the inner side of the shield with strips of hide that have been formed from the body of the shield hide. There is a raised central ridge that runs along the outer side of the shield. The center of the side facing out comes to a rounded point. The shield is unadorned. Its origin is unknown was probably made in Africa.
