Ralph Waldo Emerson School, Shirley St., Roxbury, Mass.

Description

A view of the front façade of the two-story, brick Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary School at 6 Shirley Street in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Completed in July 1924, the school was scheduled to open that fall. The doors are surmounted with pediments broken on the bottom that present figures reading books. A car parked across the street has a license plate number that probably dates from 1928. The School is still open today.
