Description

Four female employees and one male employee of Charles H. Wachter's confectionery and ice cream business pose in their aprons in front of his parlor and store at 187 West Broadway, in South Boston. Charles Wachter is the man with the shorter and lighter hair standing closest to the door of the store. Another employee holds the reins of the horse drawing the wagon lettered with Wachter's name and address. Charles Wachter assumed control of the business started by his brother in 1870. He later moved the business to 1459 Dorchester Avenue in Dorchester.
