Black velvet evening gown with black lace sleeves and V-neck and balck lace panels in skirt. The silk lining is flesh colored in the neck and sleeves, but black in the skirt. The gown has elbow length sleeves and a long flared skirt. There are snaps at the top of each shoulder which hold lining in place (it is removable for washing). At the waist there is a permanent belt that is tied in a bow at the back. The makers label (Mary Cummings Louisville) is sewn into the back of the dress at the left shoulder blade. There are four snap closures at the left hip for ease in dressing.
