Description

Circular pewter charger engraved with a leopard face. The charger appears in the circa 1875 photograph of the parlor at Sayward Wheeler. It is engraved with a leopard's face similar to the ones on the Sayward coat of arms.

Engraved with the same leopard’s face that is on the Sayward coat of arms, this pewter charger, like the coat of arms, may have been purchased by Nathaniel Barrell for his father-in-law, Jonathan Sayward.
