Description

Oil painting of a black ship sailing on turrid water. The ship has three sets of sails and four sets of triangular sails all of which are in use. The scale of the ship takes up most of the space in the painting and it is sailing toward the right of the painting. At the stern there are six other ships that appear to be in the distance. At the bow there are two ships sailing in the distance. Five small scale people stand on the ship, three on the stern and one in the middle and the last at the bow steering. Simple wood frame stained with a cherry finish. Some ornate decor has been cared out on the outer border of the frame, primarily on the corners and center.
