Description

Apothecary case with seventy glass vials with cork lids; paper labels identifying each on top of lid, inside. Lock in front of wooden box. Two hinges in back. Decal placed in the center of lid. Paper label lists seventy-six minerals, five "Diptheria Medicines", four "Tinctures", etc. Scrollwork printed at border of label.

In exhibit "Boxes: Open and Shut" at SPNEA's One Bowdoin Square Gallery May 15, 2001 to October 2001. The exhibit then traveled to Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, MA where objects were on display from November 2001 to May 6, 2002.
