"View of Harvard College from / the northend by S. Griffin of Class of 1784 / This very crude drawing is of interest / as it shows the college from different / angle from the Revere and other / early views. / It is easy to make out Massachusetts / and Harvard. Beyond Harvard is / Hollis and beyond that is group of houses / near the present Gymm, & the law school / of which one can recognize the Holuds house / To the left of Mass. appears the square / towers of Christ Church . Then a large / house probably Wadsworth House and / another house I dont know then the / old First Parish Meetinghouse with / a steeple. Then a large house I do / not recognize. / It looks to me as if the sketch were / made from the sloping knoll on which / Peabody know stands beyond / the library / This reproduction by Goodspeed given / me Christmas 1927 by A.P.P. / Stephen W Phillips" (handwritten)
