Description

Mahogany grandfather clock embellished with flame finial on top. Broken scroll pediment. Elaborate carving throughout piece. Pilasters on both sides of top case. Case is hinged. Keyhole is covered with metal scrolling. Bottom half of case has carved reeding on both sides. Oval window with key hold covered with metal scrolling which matches one on the top. Carved flame on top of reeding. Carved scrolled foliate separate top and bottom cases. Carving on crossed scepters on bottom of case. the case has clawed feet. Open work on both sides of upper case. FAce is embellished wtih elaborate gilded scrolling. Top of face contains two halves of globe, map made of metal. Rotating circular disk underneather contains two scenes. The two scenes are painted. One is a winter scene of a home in a field. The other is a summer scene of a ship at sea.
