Description

Scene depicts young girl having hair cut as rite of entry to the sisterhood. She kneels before nun who weilds a scissors, while nuns, one row on left and right, hold burning candles. In the center is an icon of the Virgin and portraits hang on both side walls. Scene is lit by two clerestory windows. Gothic feeling, although architecture lacks distinctive detail. Inscribed in fine print beneath title, "From picture in possession of the publisher."
