Small wood bowl or calabash from Hawaii, known as an umeke. Polished with a shiny patina inside and out. There are a few spots of lighter wood as well as a crack. The crack has been repaired using a traditional method of inserting an hourglass-shaped plug. Umeke are highly esteemed and are frequently passed down as heirlooms.
