Description

Jacket (.1) - blue wool, fulled; double breasted w/ 7 pairs of gilt butttons; black velvet at neck & cuffs; yoke at front w/ embroidered panel w/ 3 bands of diamonds in polychrome silk; band of yellow featherstitching around neck & cuffs. Pants (.2) - Cream flannel; cartridge pleats all around waist & at leg openings; very full; button fly w/ placket; button at leg opening. Leggings (.3) - Black wool broadcloth; shaped through length of leg & over top of shoe/foot; 5 gilt buttons at side closure; black velvet trim w/ yellow featherstitching. Waistcoat (.4) - Blue wool (matching jacket); waistcoat has been quilted w/ small running stitch; black velvet around neck & front forming squared panel at front; panel embroidered w/ horizontal rows of yellow & orange chainstitch; yellow chainstitch trim around neck & panel; 1/2 lining of white coarse cotton w/ one pocket on each side. Belt (.5) - Wide; white leather; suede; very stiff; large brass buckle & clasp w/ openwork pattern of hearts.
