Description

Green & cream striped, printed wool; vertical stripes; green stripe printed w/ trompe l'oeil moire pattern alternating w/ cream stripe printed w/ geometric pattern of stylized green flowers; printed to imitiate moire. Gown (A) - high neckline trimmed w/ green silk piping; deep shoulder w/ self-piping at armscye; long, full, flared sleeves; ombred green moire ribbon at cuffs & horizontal bands along center front from neck to hem; skirt is smooth in front w/ cartridge pleats at back for fullness; 7 working buttonholes from neck to waist; 2 hooks & eyes just below waist; the rest of skirt is stitched closed but has green silk covered buttons from neck to hem; fully lined w/ white cambric; drawstring at waist back; large pocket on right side; hem of dress bound w/ green wool tape. Shoulder Cape (B) - matching cape trimmed w/ same green moired ribbon; lined w/ white cambric; one hook & eye at neck.
