Description

Dress, cream with a green tinge silk damask with serpentine lace bands and floral sprays (large & small flowers). Bodice = A - broad neckline w/ slight "v"; armscye off-shoulder; tucked band at shoulders, around neck at back & across front to center front at waist. Point at waist front; bust is padded; pleats are stitched in place below bust toward waist. Long sleeves with ruched oversleeve which has vertical tucks from shoulder with two rows of stitching across tucks. Self-piping at neckline, armscye, center front, waist, and seams of long sleeves. Long sleeves are gathered at elbow for fullness and ease of movement. Lined with linen; hook and eye closure at center back; sleeves lined with white cambric; tucked band at cuffs. Skirt = B - linen waistband; skirt gathered all around with cartridge pleats; overlap closure (probably pinned at waist) at center back; skirt fully lined with buckram.
