Description

Skirt and Petticoat. Pale silvery-green open weave silk; high collar and yoke of pink chiffon over silk; hook and eye closure on collar and yoke; deep ruffle of white lace around yoke; 7 covered buttons and hooks and eyes down center of bodice; straight waist; long sleeves with 5 tiers of ruffles from shoulder to elbow with deep ruffle of lace below bottom tier; band of pink grosgrain ribbon inside cuffs; bodice lined with cream silk twill; sleeves lined with silk, linen and canvas; boned darts and seams; silk belt with hook and eye closure at waist with eyes for hooks on skirt waistband. Matching skirt has narrow satin waistband with hook and eye closure canter back; 6 gores, smooth in front, gathered at center back, forming slight train; 3 narrow tiers of ruffles around hips, 2 deeper tiers at hem over green satin; hem faced with brown velvet. Waistband lined with linen, skirt with silk with inserts of brown linen. Wide band of canvas at hem with pleated ruffle of lace-trimmed crinoline. Petticoat is white glazed linen; tape ties at back of waistband; smooth front, gathered fullness at back; tape ties below placket to restrain fullness; ruffle attached at knees with ruffled hem; braid trim on hem; moderate train.
