Pair of Dutch Delftware garniture vases, of hexagonal beaker form with a wide outflared scalloped rim, and tapered body with conforming base. It is decorated with hand-painted underglaze blue in a floral design of Chinese inspiration; the front three panels are covered with decoration and the back with a foliate vine (the centerpiece is elsewhere).

Painted in underglaze blue on the bottom underside is a symbol that looks like a triangle with a horizontal line leading off from the top point. Cataloger's note says that this may possibly be the mark of a Delftware factory ""Het Bijltje"" (The Axe).
