Gold bracelet set with three goldstone plaques with micromosaic flowers.
Italian jewelry became so popular among American tourists as souvenirs of European visits that American jewelers began importing cameos, mosaics, and coral. Mary Middleton Loring may have purchased her bracelet in the United States or while traveling abroad. In either case, she chose to wear it for her portrait.
